Nestor Saludo
Nestor, a former international cruise ship crew member, now channels his global experiences into sustainable cacao farming at La Esquina De Marcelo Farm, preserving the rich agricultural heritage of the Philippines.

Nestor’s journey is as unique as the cacao he grows. Before becoming a dedicated cacao farmer, Nestor spent 16 years working as a crew member aboard international cruise ships. During this time, he honed his skills in teamwork, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication—qualities that now shape his approach to farming and community building. After years of traveling the world, Nestor decided to return home and channel his experiences into nurturing the land and preserving its agricultural heritage. Today, he’s the proud owner of La Esquina De Marcelo Farm, where he combines his love for Filipino cacao with sustainable farming practices.
Nestor’s passion for cacao goes beyond the surface. He is actively working to preserve and propagate the rare Filipino Aromatico Criollo Cacao White Bean Cultivar. With a strong sense of purpose and a deep connection to the land, Nestor aims to ensure that these treasured varieties thrive for generations to come.
After a career that took him across the globe, Nestor chose a path that reconnects him to his roots. His vision is to elevate Philippine cacao to the global stage by producing premium-quality beans through sustainable methods. By preserving native cacao varieties and implementing advanced agricultural techniques, he is crafting a legacy that celebrates both the unique flavors and rich history of Philippine cacao.
